BMQR offers two grades:
– MS Auditor – Competent to perform audits as a team member or sole auditor.
– MS Lead Auditor – Competent to lead an audit team, manage the full audit process, and represent the audit team to clients and auditees.

You must meet all of the following:
– Education: Minimum secondary education (or 10 years’ work experience in lieu).
– Work Experience: 4 years full-time (5 years if only secondary education) in a technical, professional, or management role.
– Management System Experience: At least 2 years in implementing, operating, or auditing management systems.
– Training: At least 40 hours MS auditor training from a recognized body.
– Auditing Experience: MS Auditor – 4 complete audits (≥20 days, ≥8 on-site). MS Lead Auditor – Above plus 3 audits as team leader.

An audit that covers the entire audit process — planning, preparation, execution (on-site or remote), reporting, and follow-up — per ISO 19011 or ISO/IEC 17021.

Through:
– Written Exam – Multiple-choice, short/long answer, scenario-based, and nonconformity writing.
– Practical Exam – Either observation in a live audit or a document review exercise.
You must pass both parts separately (theory pass mark 65, practical pass mark 11, overall 80).

Yes. You may use hard copies of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 19011, and a dictionary. However, the questions test application, analysis, and professional judgment — not memorization.

You can apply for the BMQR credential you qualified for. Certification is issued only after verifying your eligibility, including work and audit experience, professional references, and signed Code of Ethics.

Adhere to BMQR’s Code of Ethics; submit annual audit logs and CPD records; use certification marks only as permitted; maintain professional conduct and impartiality in all audits.

Annually:
– Perform at least 1 complete audit/year (Lead Auditors must lead the audit).
– Complete 8 hours CPD/year.
– Submit documentation within 1 month of due date.
Failure to comply can result in suspension (after 1 month) and withdrawal (after 2 months).

It is valid for 3 years, subject to meeting annual surveillance requirements. Recertification is possible from 6 months before expiry to 6 months after expiry; beyond that, a new exam is required

MS Auditor – At least 3 complete audits (≥9 days on-site) in 3 years.
MS Lead Auditor – At least 15 complete audits (≥10 days on-site) in 3 years, with at least 2 as lead auditor.
CPD – 8 hours/year documented.

Yes. Reasons include: Failure to submit audit logs or CPD; misuse of certification marks or false claims; breach of the Code of Ethics; non-payment of fees; credible complaints or proven misconduct.

Yes. You can upgrade from MS Auditor to MS Lead Auditor by meeting the audit leadership requirements and passing the Lead Auditor exam.

Yes, for personal or professional reasons (e.g., sabbatical, health). You must notify BMQR in writing.
